RACE SERIES Overview
Nearly four decades ago, Winter Park Resort’s Competition Center hosted Colorado’s inaugural mountain bike race. Today, the Winter Park Classics continue that legacy, featuring four races that highlight a mix of original courses from the early Winter Park Mountain Bike Series alongside reimagined classics. With a variety of terrain and difficulty levels, there’s a race for every rider.
POINT-TO-POINT Race Description
This local favorite begins at the base of Winter Park Resort and follows approximately 21 miles of scenic trails through the Winter Park/Fraser Valley trail system. The race concludes at St. Louis Campground in Fraser, with post-race celebrations and awards held back at Winter Park Resort.
Who Can Race
The Winter Park Classics are designed for all riders—from juniors and first-time racers to seasoned professionals. Categories are available for every skill level, and the series is known for its welcoming and community-driven atmosphere.
For elite competitors, a professional prize purse is awarded to the top three men and women in each pro category.
Race Legacy
The series has hosted legendary riders such as John Tomac, Ned Overend, Tinker Juarez, Juli Furtado, and David Wiens, as well as rising stars like Madigan Munro, Riley Amos, and Bjorn Riley.
