COMPETITION CENTER ATHLETE SUPPORT FUND
Grand Foundation

The Competition Center Athlete Support Fund, administered by the Grand Foundation, was established through a donation from the Winter Park Ski Education Foundation and the Grand Foundation’s G.A.P. and Opportunity for Youth Funds to support the training of athletes in programs offered by the Winter Park Competition Center. The Fund provides both merit and need based support to athletes develop lifelong enjoyment of mountain sports and help them reach their potential. For some, this may include fulfilling their dreams of becoming a world-class competitor or Olympic champion.

The Comp Center Athlete Support Fund grant applications ARE OPEN for 2025-26 winter programs. Applications are due Sept. 15, 2025. Here is theLINK to apply.

Program grants are based upon need, inclusive of income, family dynamics and unforeseen circumstance. Program grants are provided on a sliding scale based on income up to $150,000 for a family with one dependent, up to $160,000 for a family with 2 dependents, up to $170,000 for a family with 3 dependents, etc. (with $10,000 added to the base max income of $150,000 for each dependent beyond one). Applicants must apply for funding prior to the start of each program season. Total award will not exceed the cost of program fees.

Merit based support is awarded regardless of income to elite level athletes, based on athletic performance and/or costs associated with the travel required to compete on the global stage. Merit based awards are recommended by Competition Center coaches, separate from this application process.
