The Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade is one of the most beloved Winter Park traditions. Head over to the Village from 1-5pm to see Santa in the gazebo and then hear the carolers wandering at 3:15pm. Then the big event begins with Christmas carols around the bonfire at the base of Winter Park Resort, next to the Zephyr Lift at 4pm. At 5:30pm, a procession of torch-bearing skiers and riders begin their way down Lower Hughes trail, followed by Santa Claus and his merry helpers. A spectacular fireworks display and snowcats adorned with Christmas colors light up the slopes in a Christmas tree formation to conclude the festivities. Immediately following the show at 6pm, visitors are welcome to attend Christmas Eve non-denominational service located in West Portal. The service is scheduled to last about an hour.
It has been determined by the Saint Bernard of Montjoux Catholic Church that the Christmas Eve service that has typically been held at the resort will no longer happen this year. They will offer numerous Mass options on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at their church in Fraser. Click here
