The Winter Park Freestyle Team is arguably the strongest team in the country with a long history of excellence in coaching and athletic performance placing numerous athletes on the US Ski Team.Last season, we qualified 17 athletes to Junior Nationals where Tanner Lyle finished 3 in single moguls and 3 in dual moguls and Hallee Ray finished 3 in single moguls and 4 in duals. We also qualified 11 athletes to US Nationals. One of our premier athletes, Jordan Strande, qualified for Junior World Championships. Jordan Strande and Tanner Lyle also competed in NorAms. Our NorAm team is one of the most elite in the country and we continue to place athletes on the podium on this demanding tour. If you are a committed athlete looking to excel in the sport of freestyle moguls, Winter Park is the place to train, boasting a full-length, FIS specification mogul course right at the base of the mountain. We also have a permanent aerial site and 2 additional mogul courses on the mountain.
The Post Graduate Competitive Team is designed specifically for athletes out of High School who want to continue their competitive skiing career. This program offers the flexibility (as far as training days and training times) to accommodate the schedules of athletes who are taking on-line classes or attending classes on a part time basis. This is an intensive program for the post grad freestyle athlete who is committed to reaching the highest goals in competitive freestyle skiing. Skiers train up to six days a week during the ski season, depending on their schedule. During the off-season, athletes participate in several summer camps and developmental programs while following a physical training regimen designed to prepare them for success during the ski season. Off-snow sessions include indoor trampoline sessions, water ramp sessions, physical conditioning, and mental skills training led by our Sports Performance specialist and Sports Psychologist Director, Stephanie Zavilla.
