The U12 age group is usually the first or second step of the development ladder for alpine racers at Winter Park. Following scientific studies and the USSA Alpine Training System, athletes will work as a team in developing all mountain skiing skills, building tremendous confidence. Creativity and fun are the goals of training using directed and undirected free skiing, gate drills, and full length training. The competitions of the U12 group consist of at home events such as "The Raging Age Class Team Series," the divisional Age Class events and specific U12 USSA races. The fundamentals of Giant Slalom and Slalom are the focus throughout the season and a special Holiday Camp is part of the fun for the U12's!

Front Range Training Opportunities
We recognize that many of our athletes come from the Front Range and we are committed to providing sensible additional optional programming for our weekend athletes who are unable to make the commitment to our Alpine Team Academy. This year we are in negotiations with the areas closest to the Front Range. We will update this page and send info to our members when we know all the details of the optional programming on the Front Range.
