COWBOY SING-A-LONG
Tuesdays, June 29 - August 17

Come and join us by the campfire for our fun cowboy sing-a-long outside of the Discovery Center, located at the base of Winter Park Resort. Cowboys and cowgals of all ages will enjoy this laid back and entertaining live show featuring all your campfire favorites! This FREE family entertainment is available Tuesdays from 4-5:30pm in the Discovery Center Plaza.


WILD NIGHTS: NATURE DISCOVERY AT WINTER PARK
Wednesdays, June 30 - August 18

Learn about the local flora and fauna in our own Rocky Mountain backyard. This new nature and wildlife series will feature family-friendly educational presentations by area experts including the US Forest Service, Division of Wildlife, Rocky Mountain National Park, Raptor Education Foundation and more. This FREE program is available Wednesdays from 4-5:30pm in the Gazebo Plaza.

COUNTRY DANCIN' & WESTERN BBQ
Select Thursdays, July 1, 15, 29, August 12 & 26. 

Yippeee!  Saddle up you cowboys and cowgals and make your way to the Village at Winter Park for some two-steppin', toe-tappin', bbq, and family-friendly good times!  Western grub and Free western dance lessons available from 5:00-7:00pm in the Discovery Center Plaza.  See y'all there!


MOUNTAIN MAN STORY TELLING
Thursdays, July 8 & 22; August 5, 19; September 2

"Red Tail," The Colorado Mountain Man, will take you back in time with his authentic and historically accurate presentation on mountain men and their experiences with Native Americans, Colorado wildlife, and the hardships of their wilderness experience.  He relates facts, tales, history and cultural heritage as well as touching on environmental and ecological issues past and present. Red Tail's show-and-tell, question-and-answer format allows his audience to see, hear, feel, and smell what it was like to live in the Rockies in the early 1800s. You are invited to join Red Tail as he packs his trappings and accoutrements into the Discovery Center on his old burro "Bambino" and discharges his musket to start your "Rendezvous" with the past. This FREE program is available from 4-5:30pm in the Gazebo Plaza.


FREERIDE FRIDAYS
Fridays, July & August

Extended Bike Park hours, play a round of mini-golf, try to get yourself out of the Amaze'n Human Maze, or take a scenic ride up the Zephyr Express and let gravity take you downhill in the Trestle Bike Park. Also, don't forget about all the rest of the activities available on the base.


VILLAGE MUSIC SERIES
Fridays, July 2 - September 3

Topping off Winter Park's FreeRide Fridays, the Village is hosting a Friday evening live music series from 4:30pm to 7:30pm in the Gazebo Plaza. Musical entertainment will range from our local homegrown talents to Denver main-stays such as Tempa & The Tantrums.

COCA-COLA® FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
Fridays, June 25 - September 3

The Village at Winter Park presents Outdoor Movie Night! We will be showing a great selection of family and kid-friendly movies every Friday evening from June 25 - Labor Day Weekend. Movies will be held outdoors on the lawn next to the Discovery Center and are free to the public. A limited number of chairs are provided. All movies will begin just after sunset. Times may vary week to week.

The Village Cabriolet runs late, until 10:00pm, every Friday night to accommodate for the late movie night!

CIRQUE du SATURDAYS
Saturdays, July 3 - September 4

It's a circus in the mountains every Saturday in the Village at Winter Park!  Kids will enjoy the fun and festive atmosphere as they walk with troubadours, unicyclists, stiltwalkers, jugglers, and more in the Village from 10am - 2pm. Don't forget to pause long enough for free face-painting and caricatures. All events are free and fun! Come one, come all! Don't miss out on the chance to join the circus! 


KIDS' NIGHT OUT
Saturdays, July 3 - August 21

This fun, activity-filled evening is for 4-12 year olds. This program is loaded with indoor and outdoor activities and it includes dinner and s'mores by the firepit! Kids' Night Out is a worry-free night out for Mom & Dad and a convenient alternative to at-home babysitting.  Kids' Night Out is held at the Discovery Center in the Village at Winter Park on Saturday evenings from 5:30pm - 9:00pm starting July 3rd and running through August 21.  Kids' Night Out is a FREE childcare service offered to parents on the condition that $30 per child is spent in any commercial outlet at the resort during the hours that your children are in the program. We do require original receipts to verify the expenditure. If less than $30 per child is spent, parents will be charged the difference.

Kids Night Out includes: Dinner from Doc's Roadhouse and Outdoor Activities / Indoor Activities - games, crafts, movies.

Reservations: Please reserve your child's space by 3pm on Saturday. Call Winter Park Guest Services at 800.729.7907 to reserve your child's space. Enrollment is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.


STAR SAFARIS
Saturdays, July 3, 10, 17 & 31; August 7 & 14

Star Safaris are an exciting two hour program featuring the University of Colorado at Boulder's Fiske Planetarium. Gaze through high-powered telescopes and enjoy pinpointing stars and planets by laser, while learning about the science of stars in our dark mountain sky. Guest speakers will include staff and students from the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This FREE program is available on select Saturday nights throughout the summer season. Start times will vary with sunset, but the program will generally begin around 8:30pm. Meet at the base of the Cabriolet in the Village.

GEOCACHING
Geocaching is a world-wide, high-tech scavenger hunt! This growing sport has participants of all ages hunting for over 820,000 caches in nearly every city, town, and ski slope around the world. It is the activity of using a GPS (global positioning system) handheld device to locate hidden caches or treasure boxes. These caches contain treasure, usually toys or other little trinkets.

Winter Park Resort boasts over 3 dozen caches hidden on and around the mountain ranging from green-circle EASY to black-diamond DIFFICULT. GPS Rentals are available at the Mountain Adventure Center in the Village for $10 per day.

If you have your own GPS, geocaching at Winter Park is FREE.


GEOCACHING 101
Sundays, July 4 - August 22

Looking for a little help to get started in your treasure-hunting?  Attend this FREE introductory class on Sunday from 10am - 10:30am in the Village Gazebo.


GRAND ART, WINE & CHEESE FESTIVAL
Saturday, July 10

Stroll through the Village at Winter Park from 10:00am - 5:00pm and visit with local Grand County artists as they show off their talents in this one-of-a-kind arts festival. Enjoy live music and sample fine regional wines and cheeses as you explore one-of-a-kind photography, jewelry, paintings, and more.  A variety of these artisans will be offering artist demonstrations and hands-on classes during the day.


WINTER PARK CIRCUS CAMP PRESENTED BY THE ZOPPÉ ITALIAN CIRCUS
Your child is sure to feel the magic the moment they step inside the Zoppé Big Top Tent! It's a kid's dream come true! Winter Park Circus Camp is a day-camp experience designed to introduce children to circus, performing, and visual arts in a safe and non-competitive environment. Any level of physical development and skill is welcomed. This unique camp experience will provide campers with the opportunity to learn something new and exciting every day! Every "Circus Star" will be taught the following skills: low wire, balancing, juggling, trapeze, clowning, rolly-polly, stilts and make-up. Winter Park Circus Camp concludes with a children's circus performance on Friday afternoon. Performance details to come later!

Details:
$150 for the week; or $200 for the week with pre- and post-camp childcare and transportation to and from Winter Park Resort. Ages 6-13.

Monday-Friday, August 9-13, 2010; 10am - 3pm, with pre- and post-camp childcare and transportation option from the Recreation District (register for this option through the Recreation District; fraservalleyrec.org).

Located at the Winter Park Resort Zoppé Circus Tent (near West Portal Station/Derailer Plaza).
