Ski Ride
First time skiers will explore the skills needed to stop and ride the chairlift with confidence.

New to snowboarding? Our coaches will provide you individual attention to maximize your skill development. A day of fun, new friends and learning.
Focus is on building control and confidence using turns as the way to manage your speed. Learn new skills in Discovery Park and move to new terrain and lifts.
Our trained coaches will have you riding with new skills in Discovery Park. Learn to make basic turns in both directions with correct body position. Then progress to new terrain and lifts.
This level builds on existing skills to make your shaped skis perform even better, allowing you to finish turns with your skis parallel.

This level is for those riders who are already linking turns on easy green trails and want to explore more of the mountain. Develop power, confidence and varied turn shape on greens and blues.
Improve your skills on changing terrain as you learn to maximize the use of your equipment. Move from blue terrain to blue/black terrain.

At this level we'll help you develop new skills to ride the terrain you want with style. Topics may include: Bumps, steeps, trees, carving and short radius turns. This lesson will explore blue, blue-black, and black terrain.
Our coaches will focus on the tips and tactics that will bring you to the next level while skiing "North America's Best Bumps."

This level focuses on freestyle riding. Our coaches will have you nailing tricks and mastering features. The "Smart style" initiative will be used throughout this lesson. Participants must be able to confidently ride most of the mountain with control prior to selecting this level. Use of a helmet is required in all freestyle programs.
Check out our Private Lessons to advance your skills in the park. Learn how to huck, jib and boost like a local. Open to skiers and riders.

Should I make a reservation for my Adult Lesson?
Yes, this will ensure that you have a lesson for the day. We may fill up during Holiday/Peak times on our Adult Group Lessons.

Can my child take an Adult Lesson?
Adult Lessons are for guests 13 years and older. Adult Lessons are not as supervised as our Kids Lessons. Students are free to leave the class at any time they choose. The instructor will ask the students to come down the mountain with them at the end of the class, but do not require the student to do so. We recommend that you choose a meeting place for you and your child at the end of the day.

Where do I register for Adult Lessons?
If you are renting equipment at the resort, you may pick up your lesson voucher, lift ticket and rental equipment at Winter Park Resort Rentals. Regardless of the rental location you chose during your purchase, you may collect your rental equipment at West Portal Rentals from 8am – 5pm, or Village Rentals from 8am – 9pm.

If you do not need to rent equipment, you may pick up your lesson voucher and lift tickets at the Guest Service desks inside the Balcony House (8am-4pm), or at any Winter Park Resort Rentals location. If you have children and you are arriving the day before your lessons, the Village rentals location is recommended for all of your needs (2pm – 9pm).

Where do Adult Lessons meet?
Adult full day and MAX4 Lessons meet at the Ski School Bell, located at the base of the Arrow Chairlift at the Winter Park Base.

Jane Gang and Tele Daze MAX4 Lessons meet at the Mary Jane Base near the Super Gauge lift.

When should I arrive at the meeting area?
All lessons meet 15 minutes prior to lesson start time, in order to discuss your goals and expectations with instructors to facilitate appropriate level placement.

What time do lessons start and end?
Full day lessons meet at 9:15am and last 5.5 hours from 9:30am to 3pm. Lunch will be provided at one of our on-mountain restaurants. Lunch locations may vary.

The MAX4 lesson program is offered daily and meets at 11:30am. Lessons run from 11:45am to 2:45pm.

Jane Gang MAX4 lessons are offered weekends only, and meet at 8:45am at the MARY JANE BASE. Lessons run from 9am – noon.

Is lunch provided during Adult Lessons?
Lunch is provided during the Full Day lesson at one of our on mountain restaurants. Location and menu varies daily.

What clothing should I bring?
Weather can change quickly on the mountain, so layers are best. It is a good idea to have waterproof pants, coat and gloves, along with Sunglasses or Goggles and 1 pair of tall socks (ski or snowboard socks recommended). Also, remember to apply sunscreen. Remember – the weather at the top of the mountain will be colder than the weather at the bottom. Many of these items are available for rental or purchase at the Winter Park Resort Rentals Village location.
